The crews are painted

Last week I had time to finish my work on artillery crew. I could not do this half a year.
Also, just fotos.

I think, it's not a perfect job, but at least they are not bad :)
I plan to base them. I never did it, that's why it is a new challenge for me.
I've also retake my limber. Here it is:

Русская артиллерия 1812-1814. Артиллеристы и орудия готовы. Осталось сделать базы. Т.к. я в жизни не сделал ни одной базы, это будет интересный эксперимент.

Russische Artillerie 1812-1814. Artilleristen und Geschuetze sind fertig. Ich bin zufrieden mit Ergebnissen. Es fehlt noch Bases. Weil ich kein einziges Base in meinem Leben gemacht habe, das wird ein interessantes Experiment sein.

Painting of gunners

Painting of gunners advances not so fast. Sometimes I succeed in finding 30 minutes and lay on 1-2 colours :) 3 guns are painted, I've finished 2 gunners for the test purposes and now 10 more are in progress :)
Here is the way, they should look:

Although it is guards "Kanonier", the uniform is mostly the same.

First results

So, here are fotos of my painting work. I think, not bad for the first time.
Zvezda plastics, 1/72, russian artillery 1812.

1) The background should be ideologic correct. ;)

2) I have made many mistakes, but i've tried to make my best and be very accurate.

Painting style is very simple. I only learn to hold a brush correctly :)

I had no enough time to make  proper fotos. It's a lot of work with background, terrain, light, camera, settings and so on. May be later.

3 cannons are almost ready, the crews are in progress..

An Idea

I am new to the hobby, and i was deciding, where to start? There are many scales, manufacturers of figures, paints, techniques etc.. And so I, the man, who never has painted a single miniature in his life, had planned: to buy a simple set of Russians 1/72 for Napoleonic, to try to paint it and to see what will happen.
Zvezda's sets are chip and have a good quality, it's my first choice. I have bought Russian Artillery (There were still hussars and something else..), I've ordered paints in Internet..
and then i realized, that painting of artillery isn't an easy task :) the set includes, besides the 19 men crew, 3 guns, 7 horses, 3 mounted men, a limber and an ammunition wagon.. oh, it's too much for the first time %) that was my mistake :)

but we do not afraid of difficulties.. no! I've already started to paint. 4 crew members, 4 horses and 2 guns are ready. They are painted in a simple way, but it is only beginning. Sadly i don't have much time for painting this winter. (because of my little son and hockey season;))
The general idea is to play a small (maybe medium) skirmish game. For this purpose i bought some more figures, russians and french... i keep this and a few fotos of my work for the next post.
